Instead of Abstract I don’t have an impression that Russia is not interested in international law; but like any great power with imperialist ambitions or revisionist claims, it wants to make exceptions for itself to the existing international law. Therefore it has – throughout its history – emphasized many exceptions to the pacta sunt servanda principle. Yes, maybe pacta indeed sunt servanda, but this principle can be challenged when circumstances change.
